Sonja holds her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification and is registered with Yoga Alliance. She is also CPR certified and a Reiki II practitioner.
Sonja believes if you can breathe, you can benefit from yoga with the healing of mind, body, and spirit. After four years of practice, she decided to go for intensive training, as she knew there was more to yoga than just the asanas (positions). Yoga is the union of mind, body, and spirit, and gives us good health and inner peace, while keeping us physically fit. No matter what shape, size, or physical condition, you can participate in yoga and reap the many benefits of the practice.
Sonja holds a BS in Human Services, is a Certified Assisted Living Administrator, and is presently employed full-time working with our senior population in the health care industry. She has been a teacher at Spiritual Journey Wellness Center since 2012, and does various meditation workshops throughout the year. What is so beautiful about the practice of yoga, is how much the students give back to us during each class. The biggest thing each participant of a class brings is their body, mind, and spirit, sending it to all. We are always learning from each other, teachers and students alike, and therefore making a difference in the world.
