Sharyn has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. Evolving with her personal practice, she continued on to receive both her 200 hour teaching certification in the Hatha Yoga tradition locally, and then went on to receive her 500 hour certification at the Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayuveda in Stockbridge, Massachusetts in June of 2016. She considers becoming a certified yoga teacher a life changing experience that has allowed her to further share her passion for yoga with the community. Sharyn says: “I will always be a student first. My thirst for knowledge and understanding is great. The more I explore and learn, the more I will be able to share these ancient wisdoms in new and radiant light with others.”
Sharyn believes that yoga brings about inner peace; that you will feel more present, relaxed, and centered with yoga. The more yoga is a part of your life, the better you will feel, and the easier it will be to maintain your practice. Sharyn encourages her students to remember that yoga is very personal and not a competition. Yoga comes from the heart, and ultimately yoga is a gift you give to yourself everyday.
In 2011, Sharyn opened Spiritual Journey Wellness Center with the goal of sharing her passion and knowledge of yoga directly with her community. Since that time, she has strived to add classes and workshops that help her students maintain good health and achieve inner peace. The studio currently offers over 20 different types of classes, varied workshops, and as of 2015, is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School offering a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. Sharyn is very excited to be able to mentor the next generation of yoga teachers in her community!
When Sharyn is not actively sharing her love for yoga, she enjoys the blessings of her family. She considers her three children, Joey, Chrissy, and Victoria, and two grandchildren, Joseph Journey and Maiella Mae, her most treasured gifts and greatest teachers.
