Ellen has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. She dreamed of someday sharing this beautiful practice with anyone who wanted to find the inner peace and sense of balance that she found on her mat. She most recently completed her 500 hours of Yoga teacher training at Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda in Stockbridge, Mass. Ellen specializes in combining the physical practice of Hatha yoga, breathwork (pranayama) and meditation with the influence of Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga.
Infusing Ayurveda into her yoga classes gives her students the ability to find balance in the physical, mental and emotional bodies by establishing a daily or seasonal routine, no matter the time of day, the time of year or the time of life. Her classes include yoga for all levels and all ages from prenatal to seniors and chair yoga for those who find practicing on the floor a challenge. She especially loves to teach private lessons because she can individualize the practice for the student, incorporating yoga, Ayurveda, reiki and meditation.
Ellen is a Reiki Level II practitioner and often leads the monthly Reiki Share sessions at the studio. As an Early Childhood educator, Ellen feels strongly about incorporating yoga into children’s daily routines. She brings yoga to nursery schools for children of all levels of ability and to youth sports teams as part of their practice regimen in order to focus their minds and build their focus. When you come to Ellen’s classes you will discover the innate experience of linking your breath to your body discovering the balance of body, mind and spirit, and from that balance, discovering the stillness within.
